Aims Games 2013

Take your marks- Right- time to focus. Goggles on tightly. Down into the track start dive. My knees are shaking but I must concentrate on keeping as still as possible. I don’t want to false start. Beep we’re off. We all it the water together. Time to use our legs, head down. Work the pattern- 3 strokes and breathe. The water creeps into my goggles. I’m trying to breathe every three. My lungs are starting to burn in protest. Two lengths down finally I’m half way there. It feels like I have a big concrete block on my back but I know I can’t give up now. I try to go faster but it feels like there is something pulling me back like I’m attached to a piece of rope. Last turn. Time to dig it in. I try to go faster trying not to breathe. I’m nearly there. I can hear the crowd yelling and screaming. Is that my mother? How embarrassing? Bang! I touch the wall. What a relief to stand up but I’m really exhausted and it’s hard to breathe. I took at the big screen, where all the times and placing’s come up. On Monday 16th September & Tuesday 17th September 2013 I went to the Aims Games for swimming. Aims Games is a sporting competition for year 7 and 8’s only. It is at the Mount. It is for around the world and 7 schools from Australia were there and some from the cook island too. I got some PB’s but I sadly didn’t get into the finals. I train 6 times a week, 3 times in the morning witch means waking up at 5:30 in the morning to get to town on time. Also 3 times in the afternoon and land training twice a week where we work on our fitness. Hopefully it will all pay off.
